Waxing

Available in our Wells beauty salon only.

Waxing is a very popular and effective way of removing unwanted body or facial hair as it removes the hair from the root.

This means that hair takes longer to regrow (generally between 2-8 weeks) and comes through a lot softer and finer. It does not encourage growth or thickness of hairs as shaving does.

Waxing of areas not listed below area available on request.

Using Outback Organics Wax for all of our waxing, supplied to us by a family run company located in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

Fusing the latest cosmetic ingredients with innovative natural extracts from the coastline, forests and bush lands of Australia, the Outback Organics range has been developed to offer salons and customers a choice of effective, botanical skin care solutions with an Aussie twist.

We offer a choice of True Blue Strip Wax and Outback Gold Peelable Wax as an option for improved client comfort on intimate areas.

    • Amie

Hi Emily, sorry for delay in responding to your enquiry!
Hot wax is slightly more expensive by £3 to £5 depending on what waxing you are wanting. Our Therapists are happy to patch test you using hot wax and strip wax, to see if you would prefer one over the other.
      I hope this is helpful.

I recently went for a Hollywood wax in a different salon in Bath, they left me very patchy and unsatisfied. I was told it was normal to have some hairs left on a first time wax? Where abouts is your salon situated in Bath?

    Reply
    • Kerry

Hi Ellie, thank you for your enquiry! It is not normal to have hair remaining following a Hollywood wax, unless there is a specific reason but I would expect the Therapist to discuss this with you before you leave the treatment room.

We are based in Monmouth street in Bath, which is just off of Kingsmead Square. If you would like our Therapists to give you a second opinion then do give me a ring on 01225 478478 and likewise if you would like to book in for a full Hollywood wax.

Hello, I would like to book a Hollywood wax but would like to know how long you would advise to grow the hair prior to the waxing? I have just shaved so will need to let it grow back a bit before booking, thank you!

Also it may be a silly question but how painful is an intimate wax??

        Reply
        • Stephanie

          Hi Francesca,

          Thank you for your message!
We would usually recommend that hairs are at least 3-4mm in length. This will make sure you get the best results from your wax.
An intimate wax is never painless as the hairs are pulled from the root; however, they do get a lot easier the more you wax. All our therapists have lots of experience, and we will always do everything we can to make it as quick and pain-free as possible!
If you would like to book an appointment, please feel free to call us on 01225 478478, or book via our online system.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

    Hi.
Is it advisable to have just a bikini wax before going for a Hollywood for the first time? I’ve never had any intimate waxing before.

    Reply
    • Kerry

      Hi Zoe

      Thank you for your enquiry.

The choice is yours. Some people just go for it and have the Hollywood and some people prefer to try just a Bikini wax first to see how they feel about female intimate waxing. If you booked in for a Hollywood it can easily be changed to just a Bikini. We advise this because if you have the Bikini wax and then feel you want to go for the Hollywood straight away, we may not have enough time booked for you to be able to do it and we wouldn’t want to disappoint you.

I hope this makes sense. Do give me a call at the Salon and we can discuss it further or if you would like to book in. Our number is 01225 478478.

      Hi Lucy,

You can come in for waxing from the age of 18 without a parent or gaurdian. We are happy to wax with a parent or gaurdian in the treatment room if under this age.

Our waxers are all very highly trained and discreat. A Brazilian wax would cost £30 using warm wax.

What is the difference between a Hollywood and Brazilian wax?

    Reply
    • Fran

      Hi Sophie,

With a Brazilian wax all hair is removed from the bikini area and underneath leaving a strip of hair with a Hollywood wax all the hair is completely removed from the whole area and underneath.

We offer a choice of Peelable and Warm wax for our intimate waxing.

  9. Natasha

Do you remove all the hair from underneath if it is just a bikini wax? Or do you need a Brazilian for that? I used to have a Brazilian from time to time but I’m not overly keen on the shape of the strip.

    • Fran

      Hi Natasha,

You would probably want something in between we call this G-String wax. If you were to book in for a Brazilian we would want you to feel confident in asking the therapist how you like the shape of your Bikini line – we are always happy to adapt.

If you would like to make a booking please call either our Bath or Wells Salon, alternatively you can book online.

      Hello Jade,

Thank you so much for your enquiry – this is a very common question!

I would recommend our organic peelable wax as you are sensitive, It works by only lifting the hair out so avoids pulling or causing sensitivity to the skin making it less painful too!

I would also advice you to have your wax no closer that 48 hours before going on your holiday so the area is not exposed to the sun and if any sensitivity did occur it would be settled by then.

Please do call us on 01225 478478 or book online if you would like to go ahead.

    Hi,

Is it true that the longer your hair is down below, the more it hurts when you get it waxed? Should you trim before you come in?

I’ve never been waxed anywhere before so very nervous about having a Brazilian done!

    Thanks 🙂

    • Fran

      Hi Sarah,

      Thank you for your enquiry.

We would always trim the hair if we thought it necessary however it is helpful if you can trim before you visit us, not too short as we need a good length for the wax the grab hold of the hairs.

As it is your first wax and you a nervous I would recommended having Peelable wax on the intimate area as it clings to the hairs which makes it comfortable on more sensitive skins.

If you have any more questions please do ask or call the salon on 01225 478478 to get booked in.

    Hello,

I have been to salons in the past for brazilian waxes and they have put the same spatula back into the wax after using it on me. This got me really worried about cross contamination so I didn’t go back to these salons. Do you ever put the spatula back into the wax after contact with client skin?

    Reply
    • Robyn

      Hi Catherine,

Thank you for your enquiry. We are extremely strict with hygiene in our salon, for every application of either warm or peel-able wax we use a clean spatula on the intimate area.

I hope this eases your concerns.

    Reply
    • Robyn

      Hi D’arcy,

Thank you for your enquiry. Before a wax we would recommend both exfoliating and moisturizing the day before your appointment, this is to remove any dry/dead skin cells. It isn’t necessary to do anything to the skin the day of your wax as the therapist will thoroughly cleanse the area for you and advise you on aftercare. I hope this helps.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Is there anything I need to know about or do before the treatment? How far in advance of the holiday should it be done? And I’m not sure whether I want a Brazilian as well?! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Many thanks 🙂

      Hi Sian,

Thank you for your enquiry. That’s not a problem, no need to be nervous, all of our therapists are well experienced, you’ll be in good hands. What we recommend before your wax is to exfoliate the areas thoroughly in the shower the day prior to your wax to remove all the dead skin, after that it’s advised that you moisturize to ensure the skin is well hydrated. We generally need around 1cm of hair for the best results. A Brazilian is slightly different to a bikini line wax in that there is just one strip of hair that would be left, all treatments will involve a consultation with the therapist so you would be able to talk this over beforehand.

      I hope this helps,

      Robyn

I’m just wondering for a Hollywood wax, are the areas not being waxed ‘covered’ if you get my drift. I’ve had a couple done before and where the therapist has provided a small towel to cover certain area’s, but then I have also been somewhere where I was completely bare.

      Hi

      Thank you for your enquiry.
We actually ask our clients to wear disposable pants for our intimate waxing treatments, which we provide. This ensures that only the areas currently being waxed are seen. They usually wax one side and then cover the area before moving on to the next side, so you will never be fully bare or exposed during the treatment. They also provide a small towel for the duration. I hope this makes sense.

The full leg and bikini package is based on a regular bikini, therefore the underneath and back is not included. There currently isn’t a package for a full leg and Brazilian, so these treatments would need to be booked as two separate treatments. We are always reviewing our treatments and it may be that a full leg and Brazilian package is available in the future but currently is only available as a full leg and bikini.

      Hi Deanna,

      Thank you for your message.

We offer both warm strip waxing and hot peelable waxing. We would usually recommend peelable wax for intimate areas as it is gentler on the skin. Our therapists are more than happy to use a mixture of both waxes, specially for the more stubborn hairs.
Regarding booking online, we currently only have the option for a ‘New Client Hollywood’ as it allows for slightly more time. When we process the booking in our system, we are then able to shrink the appointment if you are a regular waxer. We will be adding another option to the online booking system for regular clients very soon.

A bikini wax is just a standard wax of anything that is outside the knicker line. A Brazilian with peelable wax is everything off except a landing strip. Peelable wax is used as it is very gentle on the intimate areas.
