With many of their products organic certified and over two hundred botanical ingredients ethically sourced and specially chosen for their effectiveness, the ingredients are used at their ideal concentration levels to create all the elements needed to gain the best use of these exquisite natural resources. By using vegetable oils instead of petrochemicals, Provencal Almond and Burkina Faso Shea butter, these unique ingredients are proven to have a better affinity with the skin than many man-made derivatives often used in cosmetics and skincare today.

Olivier Bausson, at the age of 23 years, armed with a sound and solid knowledge of plants, a small truck and an alembic (a small beaker used for distilling chemicals) began distilling rosemary essential oil to sell at the local markets of Provence. He soon began to make soaps and creams, taking inspiration from the plants and flowers found on the land he grew up on. Today, L’Occitane brings the elements of Provence into the homes and lives of people all over the world using the power of nature to transform lives and create true beauty.
